homosexuality really a choice?
Christians say that all gay people are going to Hell. That says that homosexuality is a choice. However a new study has been released which could prove once in for all that being gay isnt a choice. Scientist now say that the brains of gay men and straight women are remarkably similar. Both are asymetrical in shape. The brains of gay women and straigt men are also very similar. Both are symetrical in shape. For the first time there is biological evidence that proves that homosexuality isnt a choice. Studies also reveal that the brain of a gay man and a straight women are wired very similar. Sure living a gay lifestyle is a choice but having homosexual desires isnt a choice because of brain signal. So does a person go to hell for having feelings he or she has no control over?
Someone once said a way to make a straight person understand this is to pretend for a moment you woke up in the twilight zone and its was a sin and immoral for members of the opposite sex to get together and that it was natural for people of the same sex to have relations. If you were straight living in a world like that, how would conform yourself in making yourself gay? How would you stop desiring members of the opposite sex? What if you had a partner of the opposite sex for 10 or 20 years and you love this person, yet in this alternative world its was "wrong"? Could you end that relationship to try live a moral life? What if your friends and family cut you off if they found out you were dating someone of the opposite sex? If you are a male and your see a woman's breast can you control how your body reacts to that? Its probablly the only way to put a straight person in the shoes of a gay person to understand.

From what i understand, human embryo is always a female, later on, as it developing, it becomes either male or female. Child can develop as a male, but brain will not change, hence, you have a male with female brain. Homosexuality is a nothing but a chemical imbalance of the brain. The end!

Would you agree that just because a person has desires in a certain direction does not mean that you have to live out those desires?

ALL Christians do not say that gay people are going to Hell. Some gay people are Christian. Some Christians believe that people are born gay and it's not a choice. I think you're confusing very vocal, fundamental Christians with all Christians.

It is not only "fundamentalist" Christians who do not believe Christianity and homosexuality are compatible. You are quite right that not all Christians agree on homosexuality, but most of these Christians also deny significant other doctrines as well, such as the inerrancy of Scripture and the authority of Scripture.

As I said living a gay lifestyle is a choice. Nobody argues that but many people believe that if you are gay, regardless how you live your life, that its a sin and you are going to hell. It interesting because it also says in the Bible that we should not eat pork and that its ok to have slaves.

Why is it okay to live out you desires if you're straight, but it is wrong to live out your desires if you're gay.

gsoboi,
I think you can be gay and not live that out. I am not necessarily opposed to people having a disposition to desires for the same sex. A person can live with those desires all his/her life, but not give in to them. Thus a person can be "gay" in the sense that they have homosexual desires, but trust Christ and fight those feelings and depend on God and trust that His Word is true, so they would not go to hell. ANY person who continually lives in a sinful lifestyle with no repentance or change will go to hell; it doesn' matter if you are a homosexual or straight.

agnostic soldier,
Given your name, I don't think there is a difference in your worldview...
According to my worldview, God created male and female to be in relationship and multiply the earth. Man and man cannot do that, neither can female with female. It goes against nature itself. Marriage is a picture of Christ and the church, with Christ being portrayed as the Husband of his people, and the his people being the bride of Christ. That is the ultimate meaning of marriage, according to the Bible. Thus, it not natural for a man to exchange the natural relations with a women for a man or vice versa. God says that homosexuals, like every other sinner who rejects Christ, will be punished for their sin. So there is a difference.
For you, why is there a difference between living out your desires as a straight and living out your desires as a pedophile? Or living out your desires as a rapist? Or living out your desires even as a murderer?

Im going to play the devils advocate here....The bible says very little about homosexuality. As a matter of fact Jesus said nothing about it and he talked alot about lying, stealing, ect. Do you think its wrong for people of the same sex to love one another the way a couple of the opposite sex do? lets pretend the gay couple never ingaged in "sinful" sexual acts. The only thing the Bible says is that its an abomination for a man to lay in bed (have sex) with another man. It says nothing about being in a relationship. Also the bible says nothing about two women having sexual relationships. Ironically straight men dont have a problem with two lesbian woman. As a matter of fact its a turn on for many straight men to see two women go at it. Yet these same straight men say its wrong for two men to have sex.
