Actually psychological studies have been conducted on this topic. It was found that people let themselves go much more on the internet then they ever would consider doing in person. This included blogs and forums. It's just human nature, although most here will never admit it.

BTW;
I'm much more diplomatic on this forum, than in real life.
Probably because I'm a lousey typist, and my hands can't keep up with my thoughts.
Although I must admit, the forum has made me a better listener.
