...a "book of law" for humanity, why not everyone believes in it? If this is the only "truth", why would anyone in their minds reject the "truth" and subject themselves to eternal sufferings after death?
Or may be the "truth" isn't all the "truth" it claims to be?
The bible has as much merit of being true as every other holy text. The Qur'an claims that disbelievers in Allah will go to 'hell' and suffer eternal torment. It's more of an opinion to claim that the bible is the 'true word of god' when there are other holy books that claim very similar things to its teaching and that there is no verifiable evidence to prove it's true.

That is so far from the truth. The bible is the most scrutinized book ever. The Koran wished it could survive under that type of scrutiny.
In this post modern world, the question is, what is truth? truth is relative?
This is a good point. Everyone believes 1 + 1 = 2, but that not to say someone can come along in the future, and prove that our understanding of math was incorrect.
This reminds me of the question in my philosophy class in college - "do you believe in absolute truth". I personally don't anymore.
Because not everyone has the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to them. An unbeliever is incapable of understanding the things of God.
1 Corinthians 2:14 "But people who aren't Christians can't understand these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them because only those who have the Spirit understand these things, but others can't understand us at all".

You can help me begin by scientifically explaining Balaam's talking donkey, talking serpent, Eve from Adam's rib, Jonah being swallowed by a whale and living thru the ordeal for three days, a global flood (where no one knew where North and South America, Antarctica, and perhaps Australia) where animals walked/swam to Israel to get on a boat minus even small dinosaurs, and dead people being resurrected.

Let's start there, scientifically.
Like I said, without the Holy Spirit, you cannot understand.
