Default More Religion Forum Trivia-What's The Most Stupid Thing You've Done Lately?

Instead of arguing about something I've already argued about fifty times already and to lighten the mood I thought it might be amusing just to relate some dumb thing you've done recently. Yesterday I accidentally hit myself in the chest with a sledgehammer. Yes, it's true and yes it's stupid. I've been working on this storage shed in my back yard and I've been putting in insulation and adding two by fours so I can put in drywall and have it heated and cooled so I can work out there anytime of the year because it's going to be a little workshop. Anyway, I was trying to nail in a stud with a pretty good sized nail at an awkward angle so it would be solidly attached in a corner where the two walls of drywall need to meet. I was swinging a small sledgehammer because a regular hammer just doesn't have enough clout and I pulled back too far in preparation for the next swing and pounded the hammer into the right side of my chest. It knocked me down and I just laid there for awhile but it didn't feel like I broke any bones. However, this morning when I woke up I was in agony and could barely get out of bed. I did do a little painting in the afternoon but I've been taking aspirins all day and I have a strangely shaped bruise where I hit myself.
If I had to do an occupation that involved physical activity I would be dead or paralyzed. Even if I just paint a room I have all sorts of bruises the next day because I'm a complete klutz. Ok, I've admitted to my weaknesses. What dumb things have you done?

I "blew" a fire bottle on the #2 Engine of a DC-10 the other night. No, not that kind of "blew".

The fire bottles are filled with a halon (which is a neurotoxin) gas so when the fire alarm in the cockpit goes off for the respective engine, the pilot pulls the handle down and twists it which then electrically charges a .22 "squib" into the chamber of the bottle which then releases the gas into the engine thus suffocating the fire.

Well, on a DC-10, the #2 engine fire bottles and the APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) fire bottles are very close to one another. So close, in fact, that the reason we had to check them was to make sure that people had not swapped the wires that control them as they look identical. So, my partner crawled up the hole and connected the test set to the #2 fire bottle for the #2 Engine and, by mistake, the #1 fire bottle for the APU. (You can see how confusing this gets). Anyway, I went into the cockpit and pulled the handle to perform the test on the Engine #2 #1 Bottle in which there was no test set hooked up. Low and behold, I heard a loud *BANG*, and my partner called me with his ears ringing as he was right next to the thing when it went off. Everything was alright but it was highly embarrassing and took most of the frigidly cold night to change it.

I backed my Yukon into my wife's car.

$2000 damage to hers and I ain't getting mine fixed so I don't know what it'll cost to fix.

I'm the one always criticizing her driving and her way of moving the cars around and the ole genius here crunched it but good.

The most stupid thing I can think of, that I have done LATELY was taking a shower, getting out and realizing about 2 hours later that I had forgotten to rinse the conditioner out of my hair. Wouldn't seem so bad, but it was the day of my dad's memorial service (this last Sunday) and it ran me behind having to go rinse it out.
I know that seems minor, but we're going with recent...not the WORST. LMAO

My dear, sweet man, June's thinking it's time to take a bit of a break working on that house!

Think: "Northeast Air."

Just do it.

Either way, June's answer:

Has My Beloved June misbehaved?
I can't stop working on my house right now despite the fact that I'm prone to accidents because my Mother and StepFather are going to be visiting me in just two or three weeks and right now it's in a state of chaos. I'm just going to have to be more careful.

The most stupid thing or maybe it could be considered a senior moment,is that I usually ride over to meet people at their house and ride with them to go to church because it is about 20 - mile venture. Well lately, I am riding with a different person on the way back from church and on this particular Sunday I had gotten a ride and told them to give me a ride to my house and when I had arrived I saw that my car was gone ,you talk about a panic attack and then it instantly dawned on me that I had left my car at the people that I had ridden in with, you talk about embarassed and feeling stupid. I told the driver not to tell anybody at the church what I had done, but I ended up telling somebody anyway, because it was funny, stupid but funny.
