Rastafarians
What do you all think of this religion? To me it seems to have a lot in common with Christianity.

It is a sect of Christianity. My favorite one I might add.

Coming from the Caribbean, I'm quite familiar with them, grew up with many of them and inhaled a lifetime supply of weed. They sure made me laugh.

Yup, still like the music, used to like the weed, they are not known for violence, at least not in this part of the world. I grew up in the era of "turn on, tune in, and drop out" I have no problem with the rastas, they do not actively seek converts, at least not in the preachy, in your face fashion, never had one tell me I was gonna end up in hell either.

having lived there myself for several years, and seeing - from a distance - the historical context (roots ... Africa ... slavery ....), i should perhaps not only make fun of anyone here.

I like Rastafarians. I've never had one try to push any belief on me.
On a side note, I always have people asking me if I'm a Rasta or not because I have dreads.

What do you all think of their opinion that Haile Sailassie was the incarnation of God?
Just like Jesus, they claim it was predicted in prophecy. The logic for it is just about the same as the logic of Jesus as an incarnation of God.
