Default Did Jesus Ever Have Sexual Desires?

Ok, first off, I don't want this to be perceived as Christian bashing but I think it's a legitimate question. I'm certain that Christians believe that Jesus never engaged in any sexual act during his life and that he was never married but what about the natural desires that all of us feel? I'm not talking about something vulgar or disrespectful, what I'm asking is if Christians believe that Jesus may have felt the natural inclination to have a loving relationship with a woman and possibly the lonliness of being a single male without a companion. I don't see that as being sinful because I'm not talking about lust or just sex, I'm referring to the human need to be with someone in a meaningful way, both emotionally and physically.
This also leads to another issue. For those of you who believe that Jesus was in fact the son of God do you also believe that Jesus himself was aware of his unique status from a very early age or did he come to realize who he was as he grew older? The Bible says almost nothing about his youth and leaves out a great deal about this man and doesn't even describe his physical appearance which I've always thought was a little strange.
It would only seem natural to me that even if I was a believer that I would think it would be likely that Jesus had emotional and sexual desires but that he realized he had a more important role to fulfill. What do you think?

Your question was raised in the book The Last Temptation of Christ. When the film version came out in America, the evangelicals vehemently protested. This was in the 80s - you might remember, it was a full-blown media event for a little while. It turns out that all of the uproar from the American Evangelical movement was over nothing more heinous than the suggestion that Jesus may have had normal human traits such as the desires to marry and produce children.

EDIT: It may be unfair of me to only mention the Evangelicals' reaction. The Catholics may have been royally pissed as well - I can't remember now.

I didn't see the film, I do believe that Jesus existed as a human being, and I think it's an interesting topic for discussion. You'll also notice that I went out of my way not to make this thread sound like something vulgar or distasteful.

Gospel of Mary
Chapter 5

1) But they were grieved. They wept greatly, saying, How shall we go to the Gentiles and preach the gospel of the Kingdom of the Son of Man? If they did not spare Him, how will they spare us?
2) Then Mary stood up, greeted them all, and said to her brethren, Do not weep and do not grieve nor be irresolute, for His grace will be entirely with you and will protect you.
3) But rather, let us praise His greatness, for He has prepared us and made us into Men.
4) When Mary said this, she turned their hearts to the Good, and they began to discuss the words of the Savior.
5) Peter said to Mary, Sister we know that the Savior loved you more than the rest of woman.
Looks to me more than just platonic love.......

Sure he did.

Nothing wrong with it.

He was a human and if he felt the desire, he did whatever he did.

Of course he was tempted. He was a man. He never sinned though. He was never married, though.

No, but I saw the movie and I don't think it lived up to the hype.
