They are already divorced in the eyes of God. They do not love. The paper divorce will just make it final to humans. They are not better off staying with each other either to God or man. Best be getting that divorce.

Really? What's the Biblical justification for such a view? Where in Scripture does it say God ordains, or allows, divorce because they don't love each other any more? |

Sent my wife's sister an e-mail yesterday and told her to please NEVER ask me if I'm a Christian again!! I told her to call my wife's brother (who would probably hang up on here) or call my wife's old high school girlfriend (who would probably do the same....hang up on her). I told her that I've gotten really tired of being asked that by her! I told her "your sister and I are both Christians and that is that!" Actually, I also wanted to tell her (but didn't) "before asking someone if they are a Christian, you'd better ask yourself IF you are a Christian in your marriage?" As for me, I (nor wife either) go around asking people if they are a Christian. And, I doubt very much if she was ask her brother or my wife's girlfriend if they are Christians...she pretty much know what they would say and/or do!

Sounds like your sister's family is messed up. Maybe one of them is a real jerk to other one. How could you stay in "love" to a total jerk...who knows what really goes on. And she's got some nerve harrassing you about being a Christian. Why is she so worried about it?

Where in the bible does it say you HAVE to be married? Really I am curious. I know the one about bishops having one wife...but what else? The OT is a lousy example of marriage. |
