Default Jesus Who!

I'm sure this is covered elsewhere on this forum but I've been unable to find it so if it does, perhaps someone would point me in the right direction.

Let's look for evidence of JC. Outside of Christianity, there is no contemporaneous evidence whatsoever for him. As the saying goes, 'If there is no evidence that there is an elephant living in your house, why would you believe that there is'? I contend that JC, Son of God is a myth!

Well actually there is lots of evidence outside of the Christian faith. Other religions describe him him as a great teacher/prophet, they do not doubt that He was here, just if He was Christ. Believing Him to be the Son of God is the faith part.

I believe Jesus is viewed as a prophet in the Koran and not the son of God. If I am not mistaken, Islam is very similar to the Jewish religion in that they are still waiting for the Son of God to come to earth. Don't hold me to that, I am not entirely certain.

Your pretty much right.

The major difference between Islam, Judaism, and Christianity..in a word...is Jesus!

To him, a lot of similarities in all 3. Pretty wild, IMHO.

Well the mention of Jesus in Josephus' Antiquities of the Jews is pretty well accepted as being a Christian forgery from about the 4th century. Both theist and non-theist appear to agree with this. There is no record in the Roman archives of JC being crucified.

The Koran referring to Jesus is also not evidence of the existence of Jesus. It simply means that the story of christianity was widely known.
