Absolutely!!! God the Father and Jesus Christ are one in purpose and therfore worshipping one is worshipping both IMO.
2 Nephi 25:26
And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.

Alpha....
I just wanted to take a second and tell you that I really appreciate the manner in which you are asking questions. I like it that you are not argumentive and have a desire to understand what another faith believes. I am trying to do the same thing, but I'm finding that people have a tendency to attack when they realize that one does not agree with them. I am interested in learning about other faiths, but I am not interested in arguing about it. I notice that you seem to be the same. Thank you!

I appreciate that mollysmiles. You can see in my original post, I'm a lay leader in my church. I think it's my responsibility to be able to give straight, honest answers to what people ask me REGARDLESS of what the 'religious machine' tells me I'm 'supposed' to say.
Here's the thing, if I think you're wrong about Joseph Smith, the BOM, the afterlife, etc...I just need to know what matters. Although it didn't get a lot of traffic, I started a thread before this one called "Christians: What does it take to be 'saved'?" I created it with an ulterior motive, to balance the answers of Christians over there, with the answers to the questions I ask here. Does that make sense?
If I think you're wrong about Joseph Smith, does that make you 'unsaved'?
If I think you're wrong about the degradation of the Church Christ established, does that make you 'lost'?
I'm not pro or anti Mormon...I'm pro mollysmiles, I'm pro dreameyes, I'm pro calibelle, I'm pro maniac, I'm pro SergeantL.....lemme see if this comes out right....I can not know how everyone in the entire Mormon church feels about their faith....God hasn't put me in front of the entire Mormon church. He has, however, led our paths to cross each other. And all I really care about, is do you know and accept the free gift of salvation offered by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. And so far, I think you guys have been very clear on that. I have purposely stayed off google for 'our side' 'their side' arguments because I want to be able to ask unbiased questions that the Holy Spirit leads me to ask as we have this discussion.
I don't have all my questions answered yet, but I'm alot farther down the road.
Thanks for your compliment and your patience with me. The only thing I care about is to become more educated in general about your faith and to make sure the people that become 'friends' here will be my 'friends' for eternity.

I am very much an amateur but learning through the grace of God. I am also learning to love more too by the indwelling of His Spirit. Good things are worth waiting for, Godly things are waiting for us to take hold of them.

Alpha, I have spent the past 2+ hours reading this, and an entire thread similar to this topic which you were part of. I sincerely respect your demenor and polite way you have posted. I am also a lifelong member of the LDS faith. I wish I had know about this (and the other) thread, I would have loved to reply to many of the posts.
But, I have a question for you. What is a lay lead in your church? What do you do? (and is this question allowed in a get your LDS questions answered here thread?)
Thanks!!!
Lori
