the girl must return
Christian Convert Teen Must Go Back to Ohio, Judge Rules
A 17-year old girl who fled from her home, fearing her Muslim parents would kill her for converting to Christianity, must go back to Ohio, a Florida judge ruled Tuesday.
Judge Daniel Dawson ruled Ohio has jurisdiction over the case involving the teen, Rifqa Bary.
Before the girl gets sent back, the judge says he needs immigration papers proving her status in the U.S. and proof from the state of Florida that she can continue her virtual schooling and receive credit in Ohio.
She is expected to be placed in foster care when she returns and will also be provided with psychiatric evaluations. Her parents will also receive psychiatric evaluations....................

I just hope she doesn't have to her parents. I believe her story about honor killing. There are many on record around the world......especially to muslim females who shame the family. I don't think she was that scared for nothing....

Too much waffle. Just ship her back to Pappy and Mommy
I'm pretty sure they won't kill her. I know people who lead double lives, they are secret Catholics in a Muslim household, coz they silently converted. All the media fuss is unnecessary.

Did anyone expect any Fla judge to do righteousness in helping an innocent human being be saved from death?
Fla is the state that murdered Terri Schiavo by "legalities", with judges ruling for the murder by starvation and witholding of water, from Terri.
However, this young woman is not Terri Schivo. She is a daughter of Jesus Christ by second birth, and we will see what we will see. He may have plans that we cannot fathom for Muslims to know that He is the LORD God, and is not allah the Muslim demon, moon god.

Daniel 3
"Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the image of gold I have set up? 15 Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?" 16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. 1 But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up."

Don't know what the issue is, she's old enough to be emancipated. And it's not like she's going to be murdered, not with all this press.

I'm not sure I believe her story. It strikes me as possible her parents would be angry about her leaving Islam, but if one of my siblings had (in their teen years) left Catholicism for some small Evangelical Church they saw online they'd probably have been annoyed with them. And considering that an element of Evangelicals basically like telling horror stories that equate all Muslims with extremist Muslims I can see them scaring her.
That being said I'm not sure I disbelieve her story either. I don't know her parents or the situation. And her action does seem rather much if she didn't think there was a danger. And better safe than sorry.
As mentioned though she's seventeen. In a year she'll be an adult and can go wherever she wants or even become Rebecca Berry of Sarasota or something.

'Honor' killing comes to the US - The Boston Globe
NO ONE knows just how many Muslim girls and women are murdered each year in the name of family "honor," since their deaths frequently go unreported and unpunished. The cases that do come to light are ghastly. "Women and young girls are set ablaze, strangled, shot at, clubbed, stabbed, tortured, axed, or stoned to death," a United Nations report noted in 2004. "Their bodies are found mutilated with their throat slit, or they are chopped into pieces and thrown in a ditch."......................

They aren't making her go back to her parents. They are making her go back to the state where she must legally reside until she is 18.
They are putting her with foster parents.
Is this going to be a problem? Are people just going to read the headline, and assume she is going to be sent back to her dad who threatned to kill her?
Ugh

Sigh, I took an entire course on Radical Islam. I may have even read some excerpts of Qutb, but I don't recall at the moment. I almost had a paper published on Islamism in Sudan.
First honor killing is largely about Mideastern patriarchicalism. There was an "honor killing" among the Yezidi in Iraq and they're very much not Muslim.
Second instances of honor killing in the US are rare.
Granted this would be more killing for apostasy than honor and therefore something that has occurred in the Indian subcontinent at times. However I believe her parents are Sri Lankan and if so I'm not sure Sri Lankan Muslims have a history of that. Even in societies that kill over apostasy I believe that it's generally not done by the parents.
Further I'm not sure I know of much in the way of credible apostate-killings in the US. Also if she is in danger for being an apostate she might well be in danger wherever there are Radical Muslims and that includes Florida. Islamists who believe in killing apostates consider apostasy to be a crime against the Islamic community, akin to treason, not a crime merely against your parents. In fact Islamism often de-emphasizes that kind of "family vengeance", after a fashion, as that kind of tribalism is possibly jahiliyya. (Jahiliyya refers to the "chaos" of pre-Islamic society)

Man to be executed in Afghanistan for being a Christian
In spite of freeing Afghanistan from the iron thumb of the Taliban, an Afghani court is poised to condemn a Christian to death because he left Islam to become a Christian.
Abdul Rahman, believed to be 41, converted to Christianity while living in Germany. But when he returned to Afghanistan he found his children in the custody of their grandparents. When he tried to gain custody back, it was exposed that he had converted from Islam to Christianity, something that Shariah law demand the death penalty for..........................
