We tend to underestimate the power of the mind. I do sincerely believe that if we can get a person to relax, look outward instead of inward, then the mind can do things with the healing agents already in the body.

The knowledge that people are praying is very helpful in getting the person in the right frame of mind.

Stress hinders healing. When we have a problem, stress and worry about it makes us worse.

Default What's your opinion of faith healing

I believe in faith healing. I believed in it before I expereinced it. I believe because I was given the faith, by God to be able to do so.
I was suffering from problems with my jaw. I had stretched it too far when it was still numb from a dentist visit and my jaw came off the ball. My teeth didn't even align after that! After seeing two docs, one of them a specialist and being told I was to have therapy three times a week, (out of town) wear a chin strap at night and that this would be with me for the rest of my life, I decided to stand firm and wait for Divine healing.(for one thing we didn't have the money for me to go for all this!) I had prayed and told the Lord I didn't want anything else, but healing from him.
One morning he led me through a series of things ending with me laying my own hands on my jaw. I received this healing from the Lord even though my jaw still hurt. Within a week the pain was gone and has not returned. That was 11 years ago.
I believe.

Faith healing to me is like online dating turning into marriage.. I've never seen it work.. but that doesn't mean it doesn't.

You know, I tend to think that healing by faith is a combo of what God has created our minds to do--something we are just beginning to scratch the surface of, and we all know we use a very small portion of our brains--and God's supernatural healing power. So if we believe, and we have faith--not hope, but faith--that God wants us healed and can do it, then the Bible says as our faith is, so be it unto us. Jesus said that someone's FAITH made them whole. Of course this is the power of God, but does God use our minds as part of the healing process? I think so.

I broke both my legs twice. Oh I had growing pains, but when I was growed I still had the pains. Rain and cold became my enemy. When a christian friend found out about this she took me to a faith healer. That day to this those 'aching pains' have not returned. I beleive wanting, and having a little faith to beleive in it myself, played a part in this!

As an atheist of course I don't believe it at all but it brings up an interesting question for religious people. Jesus is said to have healed people and even raised someone from the dead but of course he is recognized as the son of God by Christians. It would be a completely different situation if an ordinary human being were able to cure someone of an illness. What do you think about this possibility? Also, what do you think about specific locations where healing is supposed to take place like Lourdes in France? There have been millions of people who have traveled from all over the world to this spot because they believe it has healing powers. I know that if a loved one is ill that people will pray to God for a cure or a miracle. This is very different from an individual who claims to have received this gift from God or a location like Lourdes. Opinions?
I myself would look to the Bible to see what it says mostly because you bring up Jesus and his healing.

Theologically there are probably two schools of thought with others branching off yet again. But for this arguement one arguement is the healing "powers" died when the Apostles died. Arguement number two....Jesus will use us as he said he would in this regard.

He sent 70 guys out two by two and gave them these instructions...to go heal the sick in HIS name. They all came back saying Lord even the demons obey us in your name. Then the J Man says one of his many quotable quotes (paraphrasing)...YA'LL AIN'T SEEN NOTHIN YET!

The Military soldier walked up to Jesus and told him about his sick little daughter. Jesus said "lets go see her" and the soldier said "all you have to do is speak the word and she will be healed". Jesus then followed up with another oldy but goodie..."never have I seen more faith in anyone than I have just seen in this man".

It was the mans Faith that healed his daughter, Faith in Jesus Christ and his healing powers. The 70 men sent out weren't Apostles, so yes based on the Bible I would say it is still available today.

Now for those who believe this as Hog Wash, I say great love ya.

I have lalso earned to live by this motto I done went and figured out myself...If you believe God can, or if you believe God can't, you're right!

Default Sources of inferior pain

Sounds like your sciatic nerve is inflamed. Sometimes, too....a muscle spasm can pinch a nerve and cause pain.
A muscle spasm itself is painful, because the lactic acid crystals irritate the muscle fibers. Too much too long can cause a fibrotic condition.
Another source of pain in the legs and feet is diabetic neuropathy.

This is going to sound sarcastic or negative but I don`t mean it to be. I`m truly interested in your thoughts. So please don`t get upset or hurt.I`m just asking. Here goes.....I know there are some on here that think they are wonderful christians filled with God`s Holy Spirit. I`ve read post where people have said the Holy Spirit told them this or told them that. They have stated that they have the truth and they know it because they have the Spirit within them. So,having said that and if you believe you have sooo much faith, why don`t you go around healing people like the apostles did? If you believe that Jesus truly meant that all any believer needed was just faith the size of a mustard seed to move a mountain and none is able to do it,then what does that say about your faith? Why can`t these people of great faith raise the dead? Why can`t limbs be restored. Why don`t we see people who have lost legs or arms have them grown back on in front of our eyes if all you truly need is very little faith? I`m just asking. People believe they have great faith and Jesus said all you need is very little to do the mightiest things. So why do we not see the normal christian who says he has great faith doing these things?

I don't believe in Lourdes or any place where I have to pay for water with healing abilities.
Jesus would never ask money or a donation for having helped people.
People who do heal and still ask money (or a donation) for it are false prophets.
