These are excerpts from an inspirational email that I received on Father's Day:

"Q: What is the shortest chapter in the Bible?

A: Psalms 117

Q: What is the longest chapter in the Bible?

A: Psalms 119

Q: Which chapter is in the center of the Bible?

A: Psalms 118

Fact: There are 594 chapters before Psalms 118

Fact: There are 594 chapters after Psalms 118

Add these numbers up and you get 1188.

Q: What is the center verse in the Bible?

A: Psalms 118:8

Q: Does this verse say something significant about God's perfect will for our lives?

The next time someone says they would like to find

God's perfect will for their lives and that they want to

be in the center of His will, just send them to the

center of His Word!

Psalms 118:8

"It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man."

Now isn't that odd how this worked out (or was God in the center of it)?

When things get tough, always remember...

Faith doesn't get you around trouble, it gets you through it !! "

Thank you very much for that! Yes, it's pretty cool!

Yes, God is in the center of it all! You know what's really cool.....some people I just know will come along and want to and attempt to mess up your post on you, but it will not matter in the least because we know what it means! There is no changing that!
Have a very blessed day!

I think I will forward that to some of my friends and family too! LOL!

Thanks for posting that again! I posted it a couple of months ago on another thread...in order to "prove a point"

I love this! And it really does figure that such a powerful verse should be at the core of the Bible

Do people do fact checking? Why would each Psalm, since they are but prayers, be called a chapter?

Nothing like playing with numbers to "prove" something, although in this case, I don't see what's being "proven." Strange coincidences are just that, and nothing more.

Seeing as the Catholic bible, which is older than the protestant bible, has more chapters, that kind of blows holes in the "center" thing.

Not Center Verse of the Bible: Psalm 118:8 (The Prayer Foundation)

BTW, Psalm 118 is not the center of the bible.

Up to Psalm 117 there are 595 chapters.

From Psalm 119 on there are 593 chapters.

That makes Psalm 117 the center of the current bible. However, the KJV had even chapters, so there was no center. The older versions of the bible didn't even contain chapters.

Thanks for posting something that is completely wrong and trying to convert people with it. Classic Christianity.
