Can I ask why you are trying to get your atheist friend to read it?
Oh, he is a lifelong friend and we go back and forth about religion/God all the time. I have read books he asked me to read so I thought this would be a good one from my standpoint - so he can see my view. We don't force our views on each other, we try to explain them. Sometimes books help to get that point across.

Oh cool. I have a religious friend that thinks a book will convert me. Then when it doesn't she gets all mad like I am an idiot or something. sHe wont even read anything from my "side". I am really beginning to wonder how and why i am her friend.

Well, I can tell you THAT won't work - we've known each other forever and neither of us has changed our views one bit! I think you're friend probably really likes you and wants you to see her side. Religion can be such an argumentative subject, can't it?
