Fridays was a great show. It's the one that Michael Richards (Kramer from Seinfeld) got his start on. Larry David (Creator of Seinfeld & Curb Your Enthusiasm) was also a member of the cast.
Father Guido Sarducci was originally on Laugh-In and The Smothers Brothers TV shows.
I loved the weather report Sarducci gave - he was describing the weather in Italy, and then he stated, "we got the cold air coming in from Stuttgart" - basically blaming the Germans for sending their cold weather to Italy - this phrase has become an inside joke in our family. Does anyone know if there is a Best Of DVD for Sarducci skits?
By the way, I wonder how this thread got moved to the religion forum - if anything, it should be in the books, music, movies, tv, no? I don't think he was a real "father" but I might be mistaken....

I thought the same thing..why in the world is this in the religion forum......guess a moderator just saw "Father" and thought that was the best place...
I remember Friday's..I seem to remember some military skit with a kid playing with toy soldiers that were being blown up...or was that Mad TV?!!
And I didn't know that Father Guido Sarducci started on Laugh-In...I was young but I vaguely remember that show because of all the actors opening and closing their little doors while telling jokes throughout the show...my mom liked it, I remember.

I think some of the mods thought the religion regulars should lighten up a bit.
Yes, I remember! Great picture of him you posted. That was when SNL was actually good. Did anyone else plan their social life around that show?
Me. Me. Me. I always had dates, but we came back early so we could watch SNL. Never missed a show. Man, how times have changed, it is simply not the same show anymore, I miss it.
