they got it wrong.!! the cascadia subduction zone is going to snap on january 23- 2011 with a 9.2 on the richter scale
I lived in cali for the first 18 years of my life and my mom still lives there. As far back as I can remember - there has ALWAYS been talk about the "Big One." We had friends that moved to Hawaii because they were afraid of the "Big One" and that was about 15 or 20 years ago. I think that rumor will always be around until it finally hits - whenever that may be - if ever.

Question: do you have earthquakes on octopolus?
IMHO, they've already had several Big Ones in CA. That one in Long Beach many years ago? Or the Northridge or the Simi Valley quakes a while ago. Or the SF quake and fire way back when, or that one that toppled the Nimitz freeway a dozen years ago?
What; were those just "The Little Ones"? Honesty; this has nothing to do with God. Just geology. What is predictable is that there will be more, including a real big one. Or perhaps dozens of "Little Ones', all relieving those built-up stresses. Who knows?
