Yo, Brad, it's called plate tectonics. There's going to be a quake. Geological fact. All those predictions about the timing, and the religious overtones--that's what takes all those youtube videos into the territory of the ridiculous.

Coos' foolproof method of becoming an earthquake prophet:

-Make 1 account an eventually end up claiming that an earthquake will occur in a high risk area each and every day of the year.
-Check every day to see when an earthquake has happened, give it enough time.
-When an earthquake happens on the same day as one of your predictions; delete all videos in the wrong date and smugly state that you knew it all along.
-Keep making claims, you will be wrong pretty much all the time but that one earthquake you did "predict" pretty much guarantees gullible followers.
-Alternatively do the same thing but don't give a specific date to your predictions. Remember to give it time.

That certainly explains it, doesn't it?

NOTE to SoCalBrad: there's literally thousands of earthquakes every day on this planet, and it stands to reason that some will be BIGGER than others.

The point is, they all resolve themselves. You aren't one of those silly End Times parrot-prophets with this stuff, are you?

September last year had the 8.0 but was topped this year in Feb at 8.8M. The one in September was the largest one last year, so we have yet to see it there is an earthquake this September which beats the Feb 8.8M one. Somehow, I doubt it.

There ARE more larger earthquakes this year than last, so do not let people tell you there aren't. So far, EVERY month in 2010 has had more 4.9M+ earthquakes than the corresponding month last year. Feb and March had twice as many as last year. That is significant I think, dont you?

The last 5 months have had more total earthquakes (of all sizes) than the same month last year too.

I am using USGS figures.
