A literal Bible and the Sun standing still
It's simple. The Bible says the Sun stood still in the sky so that the Jews could have more daylight to kill their enemies. Joshua 10:13
Did this literally happen? This is,of course, directed to the literalists and not at those who don't take things like this in the Bible literally

Of course the sun and the moon stood still at Joshua's command.
It is recorded in the Book of Jasher.
God did not make a rotating, tilting, revolving earth; but a fixed earth, a globe, from which globe of water the entire heavens were stretched out, between the waters of earth's creation, on day 2.
The entire stretched out heavens rotate around the fixed globe, once a day.
If you read the Bible for yourself you would know that is what God says.
If you read the Bible for yourself you would know that God set His created temple in the sun, which He made on day 4, and set in His stretched out heavens, with the moon and stars.
If you read the Bible for yourself, then you would know that once, the sun went backwards for ten degrees, too, besides standing still along with the moon, at Joshua's command, centuries before that.
And if you read the Bible for yourself, you would know that in the coming great tribulaltion, the earth will move out of its fixed place, stagger like a drunken man, jump about like a chased Roe, and turn upside down, with the seasons backwards.
But of course, you don't read the Bible for yourself, and do not care to seek a personal relationship with the LORD of creation, nor humble yourself before Him and receive His glorious grace; so that you may be His adopted son, and have eternal Life in His presence in the coming regeneration of the heavens and the earth.

Sure I happened, another example was the Lady of Fatima when Jesus said through this vision of God, to go on this day and the sun will be moved, and 100 thousand People went to that day and the sun began to dance all over the sky on Oct 13 1917 in Fatima Portugal Jesus brought a Supernatural miracle so people would believe that this was from him Jesus ..... the miracle stunned the people, converted hardened unbelievers like atheists and freemasons and many believers confirmed their faith ......The devil is not Supernatural and he could not move the sun, but God can........

lifer...it's the earth that would stand still...not the other way around as we now have the knowledge that planets revolve around the sun paying homage...thus, the religion of "RA", sun worshipers...
Intriguingly, Job knew the earth was a circle while the rest of civilization, not long ago, thought that the earth was flat...
We mortals still have a short way to go before full comprehension sets in...
Blessings to all...

The Fatima miracle was a localized atmospheric phenomenon after a rainstorm.Even many who were in attendance say they did not see what is claimed. No other place around the world saw this, which is impossible if it were actually the Sun moving around.Catholics tend to see Jesus in loaves of bread and in tree bark.

Wrong, The earth is not a planet /wanderer- in the Word of God, nor in true science. Nothing called science can prove that the earth revolves around the sun, or rotates or tilts.
And the Hebrew word for world is tebel, which root etymons, B-L mean "to swell", and tebel means "globe".
You have a bigger problem making up a standing still earth because Joshua also commanded the the moon to stand still, as well as the sun, and they did -both of them.
And in Daniel chapter 4, King Nebuchadnezzar is said by Daniel speaking by the Holy Spirit, to be the king of kings of all the earth, wherever man, beast, or fowl dwell. That was in the sixth century BC, and the Olmec civilization's king, in what is now Mexico, and all other kings of all kingdoms on earth were under the rule of Nebuchadnezzar.
Mankind scattered around the globe beginning at the fall of the tower of Babel, and we have suffered world wide dark ages at different times, since then.
Before the dark ages reached their height, after the flood of Noah, the world was mapped, usin g satellite technology, for even Anarctica was mapped at that time with technology of that sort, before the ice age covered it. That information is available to anyone who does honest investigative research to see if these be so. Charles Hapgood's Maps of the Ancient Sea Kings has that research laid out in his book.

So lets look at this in a practical manner. The earth orbits around the sun, and rotates on it's axis.
The rotational speed is approximately 1,000 miles per hour, thus the deceleration from 1000 MPH to zero would create huge (I mean really really big) tidal surges, even in small lakes, rivers would flow backwards, or accelerate to devastating speeds, the stress on the earth crust would likely create, well for lack of better term "earthquakes of biblical proportion".
Then things gotta get back up to speed (1,000 MPH) so it all happens again, but in the opposite direction.
So sure it's possible, not.

You seem sure that you are dealing with folks who understand that night and day are caused by the rotation of the earth and not the sun circling the earth every 24 hours.I'm not so sure myself.
