Well your intuition is wrong, I find those that consistently crow about degrees or grades to be very insecure, have likely accomplished little, beyond their education.

And what nonsensical thing to bring into a debate about anything but one education.

According to the dictionary, love is defined as a strong attraction brought about by affection or desire. A lover is defined as someone devoted to another person.

I'm not attracted to an invisible being. And I certainly don't hold any desire or affection for one and would never devote my life to one. I don't understand how someone can place god above an actual person and give more affection and devotion to some deity rather than to a person which you can actually see and touch and the love that they give far outweighs anything a god could ever give.

Ahhhh, but you must remember, this god entity promises everlasting life even if the saving you from hell part is ignored.
For those that can't seem to handle plain old decomposing dying, that seems to have great appeal.

Ahhhh, but you must remember that love is not abstract knowledge, it is an action.

Ahhhh, but you must remember, that love has nothing to do with 'eternal salvation' or the afterlife; even the Good Book says in 1 Corinthians 13* that even when you possess all the biblical knowledge in the world, when you have never loved (have no love in your heart) it is worth nothing.

Quote:
*1 Corinthians 13

Love

1 What if I could speak
all languages
of humans
and of angels?
If I did not love others,
I would be nothing more
than a noisy gong
or a clanging cymbal.
2 What if I could prophesy
and understand all secrets
and all knowledge?
And what if I had faith
that moved mountains?
I would be nothing,
unless I loved others.

3 What if I gave away all
that I owned
and let myself
be burned alive?
I would gain nothing,
unless I loved others.
4 Love is kind and patient,
never jealous, boastful,
proud, or 5 rude.
Love isn't selfish
or quick tempered.
It doesn't keep a record
of wrongs that others do.
6 Love rejoices in the truth,
but not in evil.
7 Love is always supportive,
loyal, hopeful,
and trusting.
8 Love never fails!

Everyone who prophesies
will stop,
and unknown languages
will no longer
be spoken.
All that we know
will be forgotten.
9 We don't know everything,
and our prophecies
are not complete.
10 But what is perfect
will someday appear,
and what isn't perfect
will then disappear.

11 When we were children,
we thought and reasoned
as children do.
But when we grew up,
we quit our childish ways.
12 Now all we can see of God
is like a cloudy picture
in a mirror.
Later we will see him
face to face.
We don't know everything,
but then we will,
just as God completely
understands us.
13 For now there are faith,
hope, and love.
But of these three,
the greatest is love.

Ahh but you must remember, that your god doesn't even follow his own rules...

Ahh but I'm not a Christian, just a follower of the philosophy of Jesus.
An important difference between Christians and me is that I don't believe in an afterlife (or a heaven or hell).

I have a question. But I am afraid of asking this girl for what she expects of my past loves (or whatever..). Is a low fat diet about eating corn instead of carrots, or of course, but I don't really eat kidney or lima beans that much.

>I don't agree. While actions may speak louder than words, love itself is an emotion, a feeling.
