I see God as the force of creation or love (not the vengeful old man in the sky talking to people and burning cities).
I see Satan as the force of decay and destruction or hate. Destruction is rapid occuring decay. Satan is not the evil red man with a pitchfork!
In the natural world, life springs up from death and decay.
I see what your saying, and I see God as the force of creation and love as well, yet He is more than simply a "force". He is very real!
As someone who has seen demons in the supernatural realm, I know Satan and his cohorts to be very real! No, he is not a red man with a pitchfork. But He is again something literal, and at the same time is indeed the force behind destruction and hate.
Your last sentence is very interesting, and factual. I personally see Satan as doing what God created him to do, a necessary part of the experience of life and creation.
Flame on fellow Christians! Oh, and athiests, because I said I have seen demons!
Thanks for sharing your opinion. I just don't see any personification to God and Satan at all, which is more of a Taoist outlook.
Take a major destructive event like a supernova. New stars are born from the remnent of that destructive act. Once those stars get too old many turn to supernova's as well.
Demons? Can't agree with you there but I have met people who totally embrace the destructive side so much that they act and even appear to be "demonic". But demons are in the bible right?

Reason: clarifiying things
God is what most of us believe in, it's what gives us hope for better things, it's our consious, & subconcious
Satan is that deep dark feeling that comes out when we get mad, selfish. The part of us that makes us think it's okay to not care or even do bad things

I getcha, and of course you aren't going to change your beliefs because of some anonymous poster who claims to have seen demons. But, unfortunately for me, I can't deny what I've seen. I actually would love to not, ya know? I have also experienced the tangible feeling that comes with them...not something easily dismissed.
And yes, demons are in the Bible. Do you believe in the Bible?
I don't believe God can really be described. Remember in the OT that, I believe God passed by Moses but he had to cover his face so he wouldn't see him. But basically God is light and Satan is darkness.

God and Satan are not equals in any sense... Satan is but one of God's creations that went bad...he was an angel who fell. Who wanted to be as great as God but since God is all powerful he could not.
Satan is evil but it is not as though he the source of all evil.
God and Satan are not equal opposites. Satan, is merely a creature he can create nothing. He is not omnipotent and only has what power God allows him to have. He only has as much power as we give him.

Could you expound on this a little, please? I'm far from an expert in biology, but my understanding is that life comes from life. I can't think of a single instance where life comes from death, so I'm trying to understand what you mean.
It seems to me that you're saying that we need death and destruction in order for life to generate. So without Satan, man cannot be truly alive. I'd need to know exactly what you mean before commenting further.
