The Pentagon under the Obama Administration has just acknowledged seizing and burning the privately owned Bibles of American soldiers serving in Afghanistan. The Bibles had been printed in the local Pashto and Dari languages, and sent by private donors to American Christian soldiers and chaplains, for distribution to American troops on overseas military bases during optionally-attended Christian worship services. Had the Bibles not been seized and destroyed, they could have legally been given as gifts during off-duty time to Afghani citizens who welcome our troops in their homes, as an expression of American gratitude for Afghani hospitality, promoting the democratic ideals of freedom of religion and freedom of the press.

Jesus gave us instructions..... inciting hatred was not among them, be it from either side of the coin!!! Hate is hate! Division is division, different means to the same end, to kill and destroy!! Unfortunately, it's just the beginning......

Praying for strength to bring some through......

Freedom of religion would be best served by letting the Afghanis get on with their own religion rather than trying to foist Christianity upon them by giving them Bibles. Perhaps a nicely bound Qur'an would have been better huh?

I put little credence in a Christian newsletter promoting its own agenda especially when it lumps Muslims and Atheists together in the same group..

Then they should also be, how you did phrase it? "Getting on" with their own war too! Unfortunately, America's doing what she do best......serving their own agenda !!

From that link is a perfect example of why the government did what it did....so it wouldn't look like this

"GENERAL DOUGLAS MACARTHUR ENCOURAGED EVANGELISM

"After World War II, in order to carry out the democratization of Japan, Five-Star General Of The Army Douglas MacArthur brought Christian leaders to the country to meet with Emperor Hirohito and encouraged mass distribution of Bibles to the population. MacArthur later stated to a visiting American churchman, "We must have ten thousand Christian missionaries and a million Bibles to complete the occupation of this land."

Funny how certain people could care less when Bibles are burned...

But a Koran.......now that is an outrage.

Nice to know that one need not be a Christian to be a hypocrite.

The one was done quietly simply to destroy them.
The Koran burning is being promoted as an event to make a public statement.
I burned 2 bibles and an American flag a few weeks ago....would have thrown in the Koran too, if one had been laying around.
Did the world care? Of course not.

Of course the US is serving its own agenda, it's an agenda to rid the world of Osama bin Laden, Al Qaeda and the Taliban, it's not an agenda to convert them to Christianity. This concept must be to big for you to understand, way over your head huh?
