I'll also throw out there that I will be willing to purchase the Geisler book, "I Don't Have Enough Faith To Be An Atheist", for anyone who may not have the resources or ability to get that on their own. Just shoot me a PM and no else will know.
You are one kind soul!!! I agree with Irishmom: very sweet!
Ok, Alpha's going to read the God Delusion too. I'd like to add a comment. Why don't all of us who are going to participate in this book challenge agree up front to talk to each other respectfully and get into the ideas presented in the books instead of allowing any personal remarks to ruin the conversation. I think this could be an interesting and fun thing to do.
If the books are the "I Don't Have Enough Faith To Be An Atheist" and "The God Delusion", I am in.
How are we gonna do this?
Read one and discuss?
Discuss as we go?
Read both and compare?
Jazzed, you makin these rules? It's your thread!

That's too bad, because I do care what an Atheist has to say. That has nothing to do with my love for the Lord.
I said an atheist author,I've read plenty of what Atheist have had to say on this Forum and interested in what slants they had towards God. The Bible is all anyone needs to read, written by a Greater author.

Noland, I thought we weren't going to argue on this board I think the main point of this is because we atheists don't read the Bible as a work written by a God but by mere mortal men. We are agreeing to read the Christian scientific communities' explanations on why science matches up with the Bible. That is specifically why I asked to read a book that doesn't quote the Bible as it's end all be all conclusion. I think what we are looking for is a book that can open up with a chapter such as "Answers about Genesis" and proceed with scientific information to back up the claims the bible makes, not the other way around. Is this making sense?
It'd be like me suggesting someone to read a book and every other sentence said "If you don't like this answer, Darwin said it." It just doesn't do much for the argument especially if you don't trust the supporting documentation
I have no idea how to do this! Suggestions please! We could read one together and then discuss as we go...or read the opposite one of our belief and discuss. What do ya'll (more Texas practice) think?
I went to the local bookstore tonight. Man, The God Delusion is only in hardback right now so it was $26.00! I waited to get it because well, that's a lot of money...when's the softback coming out? Also, I hadn't checked the computer yet so I wasn't sure if there were enough wanting to participate. Ya'll have been busy over here. And, to answer your question Alpha it is a pretty long book.
Another thing I'd like to do, if you "guys" are cool with it is identify everyone's gender. I am female...but I have no idea which way to address you all...he/she...I'm so confussed!
I'm excited about doing this! I would really like to have the thread be as MontanaGuy suggested: conversations of respect and with information gathering in mind and not personal attacks.
