--And I think it's a shame that other countries are far exceeding us in this area ideologically....We are sorely falling behind in terms of research and science...So, so many people could be helped, healed, saved from utterly devastating illnesses.
For it. It's not life until it's implanted in a uterus...so I see nothing wrong with using the cells to save lives. Also embryos are not the only means of harvesting stem cells...they are just the most controversial. How come no one ever lines up at the fertility clinics to have all these unused embryos implanted into women so that those "lives" can be saved instead of destroyed?

Yes. Couples who don't want their "extra embryos" donate them so to speak to couples so they are not destroyed.
I think that's fine and noble, but Irish's point is that people who oppose stem cell research so strongly based on their opinion that the embryos are, basically, babies aren't exactly lining up outside the doors of the clinics to adopt said embryos.
It doesn't bother me if embryos are destroyed at all. I would be ok with embryos being created specifically to be harvested for stem cells.
Yes, but, Stretch, you have no problem with 9 month old fetuses being destroyed if they are inside the mother rather than out assuming the mom doesn't "value" them, right?

No offense, stretch, but since you stated the other day that you would be okay with abortion for any reason, using any procedure, all the way up to the moment of birth, this isn't exactly a shock.
