To give meaning to life.

Someone once explained to me the purpose of the space station was to give the shuttle someplace to go and the purpose of the shuttle was to get to the space station.

To be happy.

Granted, that's not the kind of Eat-Pray-Love "Let's be Irresponsible To 'Find Ourselves'" kind of be happy. More like trying to reach a point where you're content with what you have.

To be able to form an understanding of reality, perhaps? Though I've heard it is rather to be able to understand yourself.

It is a specific and unique FORM of energy . . . everything that exists is merely energy in myriad vibratory aggregate spherical standing waveforms in constant flux being transformed from form to form . . . with the ultimate form being consciousness.

To the OP:

Can you prove there is a purpose to life?
If so, the answer to what that purpose is will naturally follow.
If not, the question is meaningless.

The burden is on you to prove that life has a purpose to begin with.

What is the meaning of life, it is whatever you want to make it, each individual will have their ownopinions or viewpoints of what life should be and none of them are wrong, because they are for that individual. I am reminded of the words of White Elk; When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice. So live your life that it has meaning for you.
