I don't understand what this means, to Catholics, as far as his position in heaven. I have differing beliefs, but I am not trying to debate. I just would like to hear from a Catholic, what exactly this means to them. If everyone who goes to heaven is not a saint, then what is a saint in reference to the angels and others.
Just wondering...

He has no position in Heaven. No pope does.
For God says
1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men--the testimony given in its proper time.

But I will have to say some good has come from the saint business, St. Judes Hospital for Children would be a prime example, so I can't say it is all bad.
There are some saints whose lives have inspired others to do much good.
