Default A Book on the Bible and Homosexuality

There is a new book out titled: Leviticus Revealed that some here that argue pro gay rights may be interested in reading.

Ok, thanks. But, I believe I'll give this thread a pass.

We don't live in the stone age anymore. I personally would never read an outdated medical book from 1890: therefore, we should not pay attention to a book written 2,000 years ago before electricity was even invented.

That, of course, doesn't follow at all. If advice is good (and I'm not commenting on Leviticus; just making a general statement about advice), then it's good whether it was written 2,000 years ago, 200 years ago, or last week.

Leviticus certainly offers some strict rules and regulations. The problem, as always, is that people turn to it and cherry-pick; this they agree with, and so they'll follow it. But that is objectionable, and therefore the whole book should be tossed out.

If however, it was authored by God, then it can still be relevant today.

Relevant how though? And by whose standards? Pick and choose the relevance? How is stoning your bad kids to death relevant today? How bout forcing girls to marry their rapist? Can that be relevant today? That being said, a man shall not lie with a man is NOT relevant today either.

If the advice is so good then why is the world so horrible?
