I kind of enjoy the North American Indian versions, generally involving coyote, raven, bear, salmon, whale and eagle. It's far more respectful and inclusive of the natural world around us
(which is of course understandable for those people, who were so inexorably tied to that world, and not so inclined to arrogantly disregard it as some established European and ME mono-theistic religions seem to have to do).
As predictably happens with the very imaginative and essentially fear-filled human brain, there are quite a few different aboriginal versions. I wasn't able to open several of these, but here's an Iroquois version. Sorta rambling, but typical.
