Lust is the key word. you can think about something and not lust after it. Lust would indicate something that consumes you till it is about all you think about. If it is a woman, fame , or fortune it is wrong to lust after material things.

Do you agree with this teaching, interpreted literally? Let's say it is married man looking at another married woman to be specific.
As usual the bible wants us to deny our true nature and feel guilty over it.

Yet god designed us, created us in his image...

So Jesus and all his homies are actually just another form of thought police who's gonna swarm down and judge and punish us for the slightest license of liberty we can imagine in our mind that's out of touch with strict most-biblical conservative christian doctrine. What utter fun and thank goodness I don't subscribe to religion.

Well as is commonly and constantly reminded in politics, once in political economics, Man is the Measure of all Things. (Plato... the Thaetytus)

Thoughts are never right or wrong. They are what they are. Just thoughts. Only actions can be right or wrong.
