What do you see as the biggest misconception of your religion of those who are on the outside looking in? For example, as a Christian I think a big misconception is that we all think alike ...ha ha ha, just send people to city data!

Seriously, until I came on this forum, I would not have had a clue, since I live in the Bible belt, that there were any misconceptions about Christianity.

That's about it. Everyone is lumped into the same religious pot. In the viewpoint of the non-Christian, we all think exactly alike and are like what they see on TV.

I think the two biggest misconcetptions are that we are all judgmental and hypocritical.

Far too many are quick to point fingers, and just as quick to defend themselves, declaring that "we are all sinners" when caught with their pants down. It drives me nuts.

People think Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in Jesus and that we are a cult. THose are the most common misconceptions.

However, I also have run accross people who think we wear caftans and hang out in airports or that we swing chicken heads around in our worship...LOL

Seriously? Chicken heads? LOL

I grew up in a non-denominational church, but it shares some things with Pentacostals. I always joked that people thought we were pew-jumping, flame-throwing, swinging-from-the-chandeliers crazy people. Not quite...

Wow, being Catholic, there are sooooo many. But I think the biggest one that kills me is that Catholics are not Christians. Heeeellllloooooo!
