Those of us who are familiar with Christianity have been taught (or at least told) that when a person dies they will either spend eternity in heaven or hell.
If that is the case, why do people use the phrase "Rest In Peace" after a person dies?
If that living soul is in heaven or hell, how can the dead person rest in peace?
The afterlife is nothing more than fiction... there are no such thing as ghost, Heaven, or Hell... some of us have trouble letting "life" go on without us... as if we are that important to the universe... our life, like energy is transformed into fertilizer for the earth... and that's it... some people can't accept death as your final stop so they invent the afterlife... make sure you are happy before you die cause you won't have another chance...
Dearly beloved
We are gathered here today
to get through this thing called life
Electric word life
It means forever and that's a mighty long time
But I'm here to tell you
There's something else
The afterworld
A world of never ending happiness
You can always see the sun, day or night
So when you call up that shrink in Beverly Hills
You know the one - Dr Everything'll Be Alright
Instead of asking him how much of your time is left
Ask him how much of your mind, baby
Cause in this life
Things are much harder than in the afterworld
In this life
You're on your own

that's right...we are just worm food after death...so why bother abiding by the rules

Religion and Philosophy forum?
I'll bite anyhow...
Everyone who dies isn't a christian... people have been dying since time began - where did people go before organized religion (Christianity) was created?
There are 5 billion people on the planet, everyone isn't a christian and many cultures are older than christianity.
The Yanomami are believed to be the most primitive, culturally intact people in existence in the world. They are literally a stone age tribe.
Humans have been on the earth for hundreds of thousands of years, don't tell me that people just started sinning and being condemned to the hellfires of damnation only 2,000 years ago...
This is completely religious in nature.
Why would you start this in the Politics folder?
because politics(government) is rules and regulations based on spiritusal (religous) dogma . without the fear (religion) you cant set rules (reasons for) and you have anarchy
religion is the basis of ALL rules of law
