This comes near the end of a long dissertation on the sins of Jerusalem, in which the Prophet accuses Jerusalem of being WORSE than Sodom. It was a condemenation of what they'd failed to do COLLECTIVELY, not individually.

And, what was the result for Jerusalem? Destruction and captivity.

So..go ahead. Ignore the poor, don't feed the hungry, and see what happens to this country.

Just look at what hand OUT'S have done to our country!

• Section 8 housing = high crime & little work (they don't like to get their PRETEND rent increased so they break the law to get the cheap dump) Encourages slothfulness and immoral behaviors and activities!
• Government cheese program does what? give them a way to sell cheese and butter for a few bucks and give away the powder milk BECAUSE THEY DON'T LIKE IT!! ... and when is that handed away? DURING the hours when companies hand out Job Applications.

Free handouts take away a persons self respect and self worth ... and you people sit there and demand crap like NO GUNS because those that you have screwed up are now robbing people with stolen guns that some person made dirty money with (either by stealing and selling or stealing and committing armed robbery!)

You are sending them to hell along with YOUR OWN pitiful tails!

NO - I use the Bible to defend my condescension toward those are STILL destroying the value and integrity of moral and acceptable behavior as the Bible teaches.

Don't you see how well YOUR WAY has helped Haiti? Look at all the people in those tent cities sitting there complaining and still much of Haiti is a TOTAL mess and NO ONE is doing much of anything except looking for a handout!

... and all along how many millions of promised funds are not being released since nothing much is getting done!

Mark 10:21-23

That is because the OP knows or should know that the Second Epistles to the Thessalonians was written, allegedly by Paul, to chastise those Christians who believed that Christ's second coming was so imminent that continued efforts towards earthly works took away from their devotional work. In short, some of the Thessalonians took the logical course, if Christ is going to show up and the end of days were near, why in the hell would you spend time plowing a field.

This has nothing to do with Christ's admonishments of the rich or taking care of the poor.
