I knew I wasn't going. I renounced Christianity because I didn't want to miss football season this year. Unfortunately, my team's quarterback is a Christian so we might be needing to get a new one.
What if they say we were all left behind as a way to justify what didn't happen?
i'm guessing he'll say it was another "error in calculation" or he'll say something like "God spared us at the last minute because we proved to him that there are still a few decent souls on this earth who believe in him and love him." Then in 10 years he'll say we squandered his graces and it'll be for real... rinse and repeat.
Just because you are still around doesn't mean that everybody else is.
If all of the fundamentalist Christians suddenly disappeared, a great many secular people and atheists would think it was awesome cause they wouldn't be trying to ram their religion down everyone's throats. Unfortunately, it's not going to happen.
I do wonder how the devout believers will reconcile the continuation of the world with their beliefs. The amount of intellectual evasion and rationalizing will be epic.
