So if I was a believer and asked for a new car, why wouldn't I get it under the promise from your Jesus that if I ask for anything in his name it will be given?

You disappoint me Blue. I would have thought you would have come up with a couple of the old apologist standbys by now. Like ...'Ah but when Jesus said anything would be granted if you ask, that only applied to the Apostles...not anyone else.' Or, when asked why they don't sell their possessions and give the money to the poor if they want to be perfect, we usually get...'No, no, wait!! Jesus said that the 'the rich man'. He didn't mean that for everyone'....as they grip onto their wallets for dear life.
