Dozens of Catholic priests and deacons from metro Detroit attended the Mass despite being warned not to by the bishop.
The bishop had warned that clergy could be punished and defrocked for participating in the Mass.
“There were several, serious liturgical abuses at that service,” said Ned McGrath, spokesman for the Archdiocese, I guess the temple police were out in force.

A conservative conference endorsed by the Archdiocese, was held during the same time period in Livonia and put more of an emphasis on social issues
Speakers at the conservative conference railed against abortion, contraception, yoga and the gay rights movement.

See that is the difference between conservative Catholics that follow the bishop blindly and want the church to return to the medieval time period and progressive Catholics like myself who live by the teachings and spirit of Vatican II.

For them social justice concerns are about being against human rights, the poor, being bigots against Women and Gays. And whatever else the hierarchy tells them.
While to progressive Catholics social justice concerns are what Jesus taught in the Gospels Love one and another, we take as a matter of faith Matthew 25: 35-36.

I was unable to attend this historical council in Detroit, although I did attend a listening session in Virginia last year, so I did take part in framing the Catholic Bill of Rights.
ACC constitutional convention is in Philadelphia next year, I should be able to make this one.
