The church we go to is loosely affiliated with the southern baptist convention.

No, just being honest...it's pretty much in name only.

So loosely affiliated with Falwell, but a bit more charismatic than traditional Baptists, I'm guessing?

Our pastor just gives sermons on the bible. What does the bible say and how do you apply it to your life? We have contemporaryy music...(Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns and such are common songs) and we are free to worship in any way we feel lead to. I take the association to be loose because there is no "rules" in place as to what we should/should not do while in church. Heck in the summer I go to church in shorts...do all churches allow that? I have no idea!

Honestly I am not all that well versed in what all the denominiations do. One time we went to a church that considered themselves to have contemporary music and well...it was more like old hymns with a guitar added. So, go figure.

I am Baptist and the only TV preachers I watch are Charles Stanley (my favorite) and Billy or Franklin Graham.

Right now I am a non church-goer. I dropped out of my husbands and his family's non denominational church a couple years ago, and have not gone anywhere else to keep the nasty remarks down..They would rather see me not attending anywhere if I don't go where they go. Blue worships in silence mostly in the rw. I love to come to cd, where I have fellow christian/believers of all faiths, and I can talk openly about my beliefs, without being shot down, or told that hellfire awaits me. My children and grandchildren know about my beliefs better than their Dad/Granddad does..I would like to find a local church to attend, but just can't risk the consequences. I am satisfied that God is satisfied with my decision. I don't watch the tv evangelists, because it just causes discussions in this house that I am tired of hearing.
