I'am so sorry. I was multi-tasking at the time. It should have read...Have you ever watched the ending of the The Wizard of Oz? . After watching that movie as a young kid you start to realise most mysteries, unfortunately, are not very mysterious at all.

That has not been my experience. Yes, I have watched the end of that movie. The whole thing was an atheist parable. What have you got against mysteries, anyway? Why must everything be mundane?

I didn't think Baum was precisely an atheist. Although he sent his kids to some "Ethical Culture" school he was maybe like a Theosophist.
In any event I don't see the story as an atheist parable. I guess you can read it that way, but I'm not sure that really makes sense. It's not like there's no one "behind the current." The Wizard exists, but he's not a wizard and is instead just some guy. That would be more deist, maybe.

I did not know The Wizard of Oz is considered to be an atheist parable.... huh, the more you know...not.
I love a good mystery but it needs to be mysterious.
To read the line in The Wizard of Oz, "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain", to mean that the whole movie is "an atheist parable" is ludicrous.

Coast to coast? Really? A rock on a tiny Moon around Mars is supposed to be evidence that Phobos is an alien spaceship? Really? And people believe this crap?
Now you know why I study rocks, and not people.
Oh, by the way, I know who put it there. It was Stanley Kubrick, at the order of the ghost of Arthue C. Clarke to confuse us silly mortal Earthlings.
The location where the "monlith was found"..It is a boulder, nothing more.
