comical yet sad view of reality. If YOUR future was set in stone then there would be no power or reason to choose. His future plans are final and already predestined...which is perfect..how can God do the ungodlike thing such as change his mind...lol?...how can you change perfection???....the question is will YOU reach perfection by the time his plan manifest in the eternal future like it has in the eternal past. Its up to you whether you will be personally present or not

We need to keep this on topic, folks! Here is the OP once again:

Quote:
Between the OT and the NT? He goes from being carried around in Ark and personally directing the Israelites to perform much slaughter (spare not women or children or animals) throughout Canaan.

Then comes Jesus and God is now a loving (towards all nations) God.

What happened? This is very confusing!

Thanks!

I suppose you are talking about the God of Abraham, because there is no reason Greek Gods couldn't change their mind.

But if you are talking about the God of Abraham, he did in fact change his mind, and therefore under your logic he is not perfect.

Quote:
"So the Lord changed His mind about the harm which He said He would do to His people," (Exodus 32:14, NASB).

Which, referring back to the OP, it could be that if a God existed, he simply changed his mind.

Perhaps (trying to stick with the OP here june7th) YHWH simply deceived the Jews into thinking he had changed his mind, when in reality he was going to change his actions from what had promised all along. This YHWH being is perhaps a great deceiver, who plans to change its arbitrary rules from age to age based upon his own whims.
