I see no reason to resond to the arguments because they are not arguments - but denial. It remind me of when you tell them a child why they can't jump off the roof even with their super-man costume on - & the child gets mad at YOU for explaining the natural law of cause & effect.
Nevertheless... those who desire, feel free to keep getting mad at reality.
What you write is not reality, it's a myth spread by anti-gay religious conservatives.

Let's look at what some studies actually say, rather than the misrepresentations and distortions of anti-gay propaganda:

Gay men:
"In a study of sexual behavior in homosexuals and heterosexuals, the researchers found that of gay and bisexual men, 24% had one male partner in their lifetime, 45% had 2-4 male partners, 13% had 5-9 male partners, and 18% had 10 or more sexual partners, which produces a mean of less than 6 partners."

John O. G. Billy, Koray Tanfer, William R. Grady, and Daniel H. Klepinger (1993). The Sexual Behavior of Men in the United States. Family Planning Perspectives, 25, pp. 52-60.

Another study showed that gay men had an average of 6.5 sexual partners in the past 5 years. The study also showed that "homosexual and bisexual men are much more likely than heterosexual men to be celibate".

Diane Binson et. al. (1995). Prevalence and Social Distribution of Men Who Have Sex with Men: United States and Its Urban Centers. The Journal of Sex Research, 32, pp. 245-254.

Straight men:
A random sample of primarily straight men (n=3111 males who had had vaginal intercourse), the mean number of sexual partners was 7.3, with 28.2% having 1-3 partners, and 23.3% having greater than 19 partners.

I already debunked this claim of yours in the Christian forum months ago. Here is my post again, as I guess you didn't bother reading it then. It appears you don't even remember the sources of your propaganda:

Let’s have a look at the sources of your “claims” and how those claims are based on blatant lies and misrepresentation:

Quote:
*An Australian study found that 93 % of lesbians reported having had sex with men, and lesbians were 4.5 times more likely than heterosexual women to have had more than 50 lifetime male sex partners.

I tracked this back to a so-called “Facts About Youth” online document by the fake American College of Pediatricians”. This is a small conservative religious fringe group with less than 100 clinical members. George “rentboy” Rekers is one of the founders. You know… the anti-gay activist who got caught going on a European holiday with a young rentboy? This group focuses on anti-gay propaganda and little else.

In comparison, the real American Academy of Pediatrics (http://www.aap.org/ - broken link) has more than 60,000 clinical members and focuses on the health and wellbeing of children.

From there I finally found the original study they cited. And guess what?

Lies and misrepresentation. The study does NOT say that 93% of lesbians reported having had sex with men. The study was on women who visited a sexual health clinic in the 90’s. They surveyed women who had reported ever having sex with a woman- even once. This included heterosexual, bi-curious and bi-sexual women. Not just lesbians.

Quote:
4.5 times more likely than heterosexual women to have had more than 50 lifetime male sex partners.”

Again, lies and misrepresentation. The study stated that 9% of these women (heterosexuals, bi-curious and bi-sexuals included) had had sex with more than 50 men. Again, NOT lesbians, npt lesbians in general and not even women in general. Just women who went to a sexual health clinic.

Misrepresentation and lies from another anti-gay propaganda group.

Here are the facts:

Quote:
Confronted with overwhelming empirical evidence and changing cultural views of homosexuality, psychiatrists and psychologists radically altered their views, beginning in the 1970s.

In 1973, the weight of empirical data, coupled with changing social norms and the development of a politically active gay community in the United States, led the Board of Directors of the American Psychiatric Association to remove homosexuality from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). Some psychiatrists who fiercely opposed their action subsequently circulated a petition calling for a vote on the issue by the Association's membership. That vote was held in 1974, and the Board's decision was ratified.

The decision to remove homosexual orientation from the list of mental disorders reflects extensive research conducted over three decades showing that homosexual orientation is not a psychological maladjustment (Gonsiorek, 1991; Hart, Roback, Tittler, Weitz, Walston, & McKee, 1978; Reiss, 1980). There is no reliable evidence that homosexual orientation per se impairs psychological functioning, although the social and other circumstances in which lesbians and gay men live, including exposure to widespread prejudice and discrimination, often cause acute distress (Cochran, 2001; Freedman, 1971; Gonsiorek, 1991; Hart et al., 1978; Hooker, 1957; Meyer, 2003; Reiss, 1980).

Perhaps you would like to explain what you mean by "environmental signals must be present"?

Massresistance is listed as an anti-gay hate group.
Concerned Women for America - Also listed as an anti-gay group. They also protest against Harry Potter books - what can I say?

"Generally, the SPLC’s listings of these groups is based on their propagation of known falsehoods — claims about LGBT people that have been thoroughly discredited by scientific authorities — and repeated, groundless name-calling."

You seem to spend a lot of time surfing hate group websites. What's that about?

Trying to link gay people with pedophilia? Oh please. And some lovely "fear and smear" articles with their usual misrepresentations and distortion of facts from the 'pray away the gay' group NARTH as well.

No-one is saying gay people 'can't help how they act'. Sexual orientation is not the same as behavior. With your 'logic', it would be the same as saying people with a heterosexual orientation can't help how they act.

Quote:
Sexual orientation refers to an enduring pattern of emotional, romantic, and/or sexual attractions to men, women, or both sexes. Sexual orientation also refers to a person’s sense of identity based on those attractions, related behaviors, and membership in a community of others who share those attractions. Research over several decades has demonstrated that sexual orientation ranges along a continuum, from exclusive attraction to the other sex to exclusive attraction to the same sex. However, sexual orientation is usually discussed in terms of three categories: heterosexual (having emotional, romantic, or sexual attractions to members of the other sex), gay/lesbian (having emotional, romantic, or sexual attractions to members of one’s own sex), and bisexual (having emotional, romantic, or sexual attractions to both men and women).

People can be celibate and still know their sexual orientation-–be it lesbian, gay, bisexual, or heterosexual.

Not really a lot of work. I've been debunking "smear and fear" claims from anti-gay propaganda groups for years, so can just copy a lot of it from my previous posts.
I know she won't pay any attention. That's part of the definition of a bigot.

It's more for other people who may not be aware exactly how these hate groups (like FRC, AFA, CWFA, MassResistance, NOM, Traditional Values Coalition etc) and other "pray away the gay" groups (like NARTH, Exodus) distort and misrepresent facts, spread myths and negative stereotypes, and basically lie through their teeth in their crusades against gay people. They are all religiously motivated as well. Apparently lying and slandering is not a 'sin' for these so-called "Christians" if it's about gay people.

Some of these anti-gay crusaders are getting quite 'clever' with their some of their "articles". They mimic real papers from reputable peer-reviewed Journals by citing "studies" or "articles" and it all looks "very scientific and official". Until you start to check their sources or the actual studies and find most of their references are either to other propaganda pieces by other anti-gay authors with no scientific background (maybe a PhD in Theology) or they completely misrepresent real studies published in reputable Journals.
NARTH and the Family Research Council (FRC) are classic sources for many of these opinion pieces. NARTH even published their own 'Journal" "Journal of Human Sexuality"- except it wasn't peer-reviewed by anyone but themeselves and I think it only has 2 issues. But they love to cite it in their propaganda articles as if it was a reputable source.

Paul Cameron- a deregistered psychologist kicked out of all the professional associations and long time anti-gay crusader, is also the source of many myths and negative stereotypes - especially about gay men. He makes outrageous claims that gay men are more likely to be pedophiles, the 'gay bowel' nonsense, promiscuity, shorter lives etc etc. Many of these anti-gay 'articles' still cite Paul Cameron.
