The concept of hell is in all religions. Here is an article that talks about the Buddhist hell.

DowntheCrookedPath: Hell as a temporary measure by Mary Finnegan (http://downthecrookedpath-meditation-gurus.blogspot.com/2011/07/hell-as-temporary-measure.html - broken link)

The only group that I know of that doesn't teach Hell is the Christians and some Buddhist sects who believe that Hell is within. Well, the Pope said that Hell was within too.

Any time you speak the truth about our Heavenly Father, you have his permission.

But how is mortal man supposed to know which one of he speaks the truth, and which does not?

Hell doesn't exist, so anyone that invests time in it is either stupid, insane, or a child. The end.

Hmm. So, tell me, what happens, in your opinion, to really really nasty folks? Are they magically turned into lovely folks, if they attend the right church?

Or, perhaps they just get wiped out? Meaning there is some sort of magical line, and if you are bad enough, you get wiped. So what happens to those that just make it over this line? Let too many of them loose in "heaven", and it won't be heaven for long.

No, the spiritualists have a far more logical explanation. You are what you are. And you end up where you deserve to be. For as long as you are that way.

And there is HEAPS of evidence. Probably thousands of dead guys have had their say. Some have filled whole books.Moderator cut: delete Yes there is a hell. No it does not have fire and brimstone. No its not eternal, but you sure can be there a long time, if you are either really bad, or just simply believe the Christian dogma that its eternal, and don't try to change yourself.

Want some evidence? Who would you like? Julius Caesar? Judas? Constantine? Maybe something more recent, like an American President? Yeah we have those. Like a religious fellow? We got those too. Gay folks. Nah, they dont go there just because they are gay. Hmm, this dogma stuff is really dodgy.

There is no hell in Judaism.

Not all of us Christians are "obsessed" with the topic of Hell and damnation.
It's usually only the fundamentalists who harp on that. Why? I'm not sure, but I've kind of always felt that it's because they've failed egregiously in some aspect of their lives. Be it in the arena of financial success, meaningful relationships, or societal integration. Thus, they make themselves feel a bit better about their station if they can believe they are "saved" and thus call themselves Christians by merely being able to quote bible passages and go to church on Sunday and shoot down liberal Christians in forums like this. They believe in Hell for the same reasons the oppressed Israelites invented Yawheh: so they could fell better about themselves after a long day of getting the collective snot kicked out of them by the Romans. It's alot easier to endure an earthly life of taking crap if ya think that something better awaits you--and something worse awaits your enemies--in the hereafter.
See, it's a placebo sort of thing.
Us Progressive Christians are fully aware that what some people refer to as a "hell" is only the complete, dark, relentless and eternal removal from God's Grace after death.
It's a mental state; not a physical one.

Peace Out, hombres.

I'm not even going to entertain your questions. Please go to college or get out into the world.
