I was thinking about this because it's the one thing that really urks me when I hear kids say, "Oh my God...". I don't know I just think it's rude. I don't say that, I do throw out a few "Holy Moly", Oh my gosh" and a "Geez" now and then, which might be as bad because I guess the intent is really the same, but really I'm not one for saying the others. I get particularly annoyed when someone that is not religious says it...for some reason then it's worse to me.
What phrases using God or Jesus etc. make you crazy?

all of them...
and I know its the same thing..and Im working on it..but I say "freakin crap" WAY to much
I'm with both of you on this one. Someone I knew used to say "cheese & rice" thinking that was okay. That used to get me steamed . I tried to find something to watch on TV just Saturday and I couldn't because even the PG and PG-13 shows (son with me) said horrible things, along with "Oh My God".
Others that bother me are:
"Sweet Jesus" - used as an exclimation after witnessing something not so good.
"Jesus, Joseph & Mary" - used the same as above.
There are others, but I don't even feel right posting them in writing. We all know what they are. They're all not supposed to be said. I finally got my kids to stop with the "freakin'" and "crap". Now it's "snap!" What I sometimes say, which I try my best not to, is "Jimminy Crickets" or "Sugar!" I know, weird
It is this very reason that my husband and I see very few movies anymore. It's more offensive to me to hear the Lord's name taken in vain than certain "four letter" words.
I know how you feel. Have you ever thought about this: When someone says Jesus Christ, say back to them, loves you and so do I.
This really catches them off guard and they just might get the hint that it bothers you!
True! I've done it! LOL Also, when they say "OMG", I'll sometimes reply, well, he's mine too, don't hog him!! LOL I get really funny looks, but I don't care
ROFLOL -- and I'm at work!! Shame on you for making me a spectacle!!
I think we all have off-the-wall sayings we use in our attempts to keep a clean mouth Mine have a lot to do with food...
lol--i would say sorry...but I couldnt keep a straight face....my first "real" job was at a grocery store, so we adapted all of our "bad" words into McCormick spices...such as "Dill weed", etc
