Faith...
The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed for God to rescue him, and
every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed to happen. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut
out of driftwood to protect him from the weather, and to store his few possessions. But then one day, after looking for food,
he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened; everything was lost. He
was stunned with grief and anger. "God, how could you do this to me!" he cried. Early the next day, however, he was awakened by
the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary
man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied.
It is easy to get discouraged when things are going badly. But we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in
the midst of pain and suffering. Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the ground----it just may be a smoke signal that
summons the grace of God. For all the negative things we have to say to ourselves, God has a positive answer for it:
You say: "It's impossible" God says: All things are possible (Luke 18:27)
You say: "I'm too tired" God says: I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28-30)
You say: "Nobody really loves me" God says: I love you (John 3:16 & John 13:34)
You say: "I can't go on" God says: My grace is sufficient (II Corinthians 12:9 & Psalm 91:15)
You say: "I can't figure things out" God says: I will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6)
You say: "I can't do it" God says: You can do all things (Philippians 4:13)
You say: "I'm not able" God says: I am able (II Corinthians 9:8)
You say: "It's not worth it" God says: It will be worth it (Roman 8:28)
You say: "I can't forgive myself" God says: I FORGIVE YOU (I John 1:9 & Romans 8:1)
You say: "I can't manage" God says: I will supply all your needs (Philippians 4:19)
You say: "I'm afraid" God says: I have not given you a spirit of fear (II Timothy 1:7)
You say: "I'm always worried and frustrated" God says: Cast all your cares on ME (I Peter 5: 7)
You say: "I don't have enough faith" God says: I've given everyone a measure of faith (Romans 12:3)
You say: "I'm not smart enough" God says: I give you wisdom (I Corinthians 1:30)
You say: "I feel all alone" God says: I will never leave you or forsake you
*****I should have made the "You" to say "I"...

I have learned that God makes the best lemonade. The blessings he provides me with after the trials are over, are the sweetest.

I've had so many huts burn throughout my life that I can't count them anymore, but I've always come through and have always been directed to a better place because of it. Sit still and listen, He is guiding you.

When we weather the storms in life, and keep our focus on God, He pours out His blessings on us. I know this to be true. After my own storms of life, not thinking I could get through them, and getting through them--on my knees--God has given to me more than I could have imagined. He never does leave us or forsake us.
We must remember that in order to grow, we must experience trials and tribulations. How can we minister or help others if we have no clue as to what they are going thru?
Blessings to each of you, my brothers and sisters. May God bring you blessings and peace and joy to help weather the storms.

Comprehension.
[quote=arguy1973;1388755]The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island.
Hello Arguy:
I don't really comprehend your article from which the above quote is taken. You are a one direction writer with your article, and everything is rosy for a happy ending. Let us step back for a moment, and as you didn't fill us in with any background, and that is why I can't comprehend.
The only information is this guy was the only survivor, and was washed up on a small uninhabited Island. I can think of a zillion things to write and fill in a background , but only one is needed. The ship which rescued him happened to be close by and busy searching for other survivors, but unfortunately they didn't find any, thus 382 crew members and passengers drowned. You mention he was the only survivor.
The small uninhabited Island, was uninhabited because there wasn't any way a person could survive on such a place, except for about 5 days or so it would take him to die. Even the fish in that area were crap and would only extend one's misery.
You get the idea, 382 people out of 383 died, and only one was saved. Now you can't tell me I am a liar, as I am only writing a fictional ending. I can't call you a liar, as you only wrote a fictional beginning of a story. We are even. The word faith was invented so folks with your bent for telling fiction stories, could do so. Faith means something for which there isn't any proof. Hence the story is fiction until proven by the fiction writer, then it becomes fact.
I can't waste time trying to prove the unproven things prefixed with the word faith. I realize a thing without proof can not be a fact, thus a thing unproven cant be ridiculed, or be an object of blasphemy. Once a god or angel or tooth fairy is (are) proven, then it is not a part of faith, it is a fact, and one can't make blasphemy against a fact. Thus blasphemy is a useless word. If you go to certain so called Universities, you earn and can be graduated with degrees in Theology, Theology is the study of faith things, so basically silly people have given you a degree about nothing, because it is a degree about things for which there isn't any proof. This means we have a lot of stupid professors of nothing, wasting your time teaching you something absolutely useless.
See what can happen when you only write in one direction. If you think in one direction it is worse, because it is illogical, and in some places you would be classified as mentally retarded. Many years ago, Karl Marx stated that religious, or ideas about faith things, were the opiate of the masses. However, many years before Karl Marx, Mikkal Bakunin, stated that religious thoughts were the feces of the mind. Take your pick, but choose wisely. Best wishes, Snaefell.
