We can logically dismiss the last one above, it's not an explanation, but a surrender to ignorance.
I think the facts show that if there is a God, He's a lot more like an ADD kid with an ant farm than a kindly grandfather.
You forgot one more "or":
or
it is a "present wicked eon" (Galatians 1:4) and since man ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, on the one side we have viruses (evil) and on the other side we have doctors with antidotes (good). And if one dies of the virus (evil) one day they will be resurrected, be given immortality and incorruption (good) and then they will have achieved a perfected knowledge of good and evil which is what they need for God to take them to the next level which is pure love.
Q: Why would a god whose purpose it is to love his children design flesh-eating viruses which invade their vital organs and kill them slowly and painfully?
If the OP or indeed anyone really wanted or otherwise needed an answer to this question, the idea would be to examine why there is death.
After all essentially that is what the question is about.
IF:
There was an actual intelligent designer(s)
THEN:
Why are we in bodies which decay?
Withholding the normal answers of organised religions (which are not great anyway) what is left to sift through?
Here is an idea, which holds within it an answer to the thread Q.
PS - Why do people bring children into the world and love them even though the children are at great risk?

only life matters. I like how people assume we are the only important life.
Agreed. We are an absurdly self-important species.
When, compared to SO many others, we are plodding, near-sighted, clawless, land-bound, virtually helpless creatures.
(Unless - taking full advantage of an enlarging intellect, aided and abetted by opposable thumbs, we arm ourselves technologically by fashioning that which Mother Earth supplies as materials. Kinda like cheating.)
First of all God would not create anything with malicious content
Second of all God loves us and we are his children
Third, disease and the fall of mans spirituality created disease , because man himself meddled with the laws of God disease was the result
In order to stop these diseases from spreading and to eliminate them , pray for the Love of Hod in your hearts with prayer and faith, and God shall protect you from whatever disease as long you have the faith

Generally speaking, I think it more that we are absurdly self depreciative in the main and treat each other with that in mind. Most of our mainstream religions reflect this as well.

So self depreciative we have to compare ourselves with 'SO many others' and decide we are inferior...

We use what we have available to use and you call that 'cheating'? Yes - 'absurdly self depreciative' due to generations of negative input/output.

Cheating?
Cheated.
Nuance is an abstract concept to you, isn't it?
