I'm not an atheist. I believe in a God but not one from any specific religion. I believe that people from different parts of the world were given different beliefs and different laws to follow but it's still the same God. A good example of this is that in the old testament (and even in the new), certain things were considered a sin that no longer are. Based on what I've read, this God cannot be considered "holy" or "all powerful." Some of his acts are the same acts he is against for us to do. But he can get away with it? If one truly believes that certain acts are considered a sin, then they should be the first one to follow these same rules to be an example of this. It's either you kill or you don't. Which one is it? This God I would consider good and evil. He is either all powerful, all knowing or he isn't. It's either his creation failed or he meant it to be like that. And based on the belief that he is "all powerful" this points that he meant it to be exactly the way it is.

I'm not a Christian, Atheist, etc... What am I?

I'd have to say you're pretty smart to question god and organized religion.

The bible is full of contradictions and, in my humble opinion, fairy tales.

The path you are meant to follow is there, seek and ye shall find.

You are, of course, a theist, having a god - belief. You do not sign up to any of the established religions and may, perhaps be looking for one that convinces you, even if you have to make up your own. From what I see, majority theists here do that anyway.

You sound a little like me.

I believe in God, but I'm not into organized religion. Since I was not raised in a church, I feel that it is wrong to choose one over the other. If I choose one, I am foresaking all others as being false, which I cannot do.

I also believe all religions are essentially the same, and all people come from the same source. That all religions are different cultural interpretations of the same exact thing. I also believe people who refuse to accept that and take things literally are rather misguided & missing "the message" which was intended...

On the flipside, I willingly accept the possibility that there is no "God", but in reality, the word "God"- to me- defines our origin, whatever "it" truly "is." I exist, and that is enough proof for me that "God" is real.

Yes. Yes I think I will start a cult.......!

If you dump the "he" part you get to be a pantheist or maybe a deist.

If you believe there may be a God but everything beyond that is unknown you are Agnostic.
