Looks like this debate is over now that science has found a way to create a viable egg in the lab using mouse stem cells (human eggs are soon to come):
The Old Testament has been in existence for almost 4000 years
obviously all our ancestors were absolute idiots
who somehow or other produced today's brilliant minds
who enjoy sh*ting over their antecedents
The Bible was written By Khabalist sages
it is a book of parables
to be interpreted at different levels of consciousness
the first level is that of children
which is were today's so-called objective scientists
seem unable to graduate past
the older one gets
the deeper each parable penetrates consciousness
and the more one learns about the hidden Truths underlying the human condition
and our relationship to the manifest cosmos
that is why it remains a best seller over the millennium
and why it has been studied and commented on
by the greatest minds of all times
including those at Mensa level
for the benefit of those who have slightly adult minds
the parable of Noah for example
relates to a necessary periodic cleansing
of the accumulated guilt of the collective psyche
(ie like America dropping an Abomb on women and children)
the Ark saving Noah and his family and the animals
is symbolic of keeping all that is Good
the dove brings the solace of peace
and the rainbow is the promise of a new covenant

The old testament was written from 800B.C.E to 100 B.C.E by bronze age Canaanites after the collapse of the bronze age city state system, who fled the cities and settled in the hill country which would be called Judah and Samaria. they would call themselves Israelites and Jews.

The Bronze Age was 3600-300 BCE depending upon what part of the world you pick and writing was quite evident during that period.

First you've gotten another date wrong but aside from that even the Old Testament demonstrates that our ancestors were anything but idiots because the as literature the Torah demonstrates a high degree of intelligence.
That aside, it still is a lot of verbiage saying not much of anything.
