I really wish the world was free from religion...but I deal in REALITY...so I know that won't ever be the case.
Whatever it losses in some places, it will gain in others.
It's not going anywhere...not for foreseeable future anyway.
So instead of getting squished by the steamroller...I'll try to steer it and direct it toward something that needs smoothing out. A kinda "work within the reality of the situation" method.
It's like porn. Lots of people can't stand it...and they wish it didn't exist. They can't understand the great interest and focus on such a simplistic, "base", and to them, disgusting, thing...and it bothers them that sooooooo many devote so much time and resources to it.
So they point to places where it is waning...but ignore places where it is gaining ground...because they WISH it didn't exist. But their wish won't change the mindset of the masses...porn isn't going anywhere...neither is religion.
I really wish the analogy between religion and porn actually did hold. At least porn is almost always done in private. Few people try to get people to watch the same porn they do. Few people try and dictate the choices people make in law, government and education based on their own choice of porn.
I rather think that some religious people could learn a lot by how many people practice their porn use.

You are forgetting that I don't live in the USA...Neither Christianity nor the bible holds much influence here in the most secular and progressive part of Canada and your fallacious appeal to numbers won't work...I find your statements far more out of touch with reality than mine or whoever else you think is insulting Christians...Get with the program, religion is on it's way out, and that IS the reality.
