Default I am speaking up! I am Christian...I think racism is wrong.

I believe blacks and whites are equal. I believe Hispanics and Anglos are equal. I think people should stop being so biggoted against other people coming into our country. I think we should find a way to make sure everyone contributes equally, but people should stop making exuses for their bigotry. I believe gay people should be treated with the same respect as everyone else. I have no objections to gay marriage.

I am also pro-choice by the way.

Are there any other Christians here who would also like to "speak up"?

It is refreshing to find someone who is willing to call Native Americans bigoted because they fought against my ancestors when they settled in Jamestown.

This is new to me.

I was a Catholic for like 25years but didn't pay much attention(until I did, so I'm atheist now),and because I guess Churches in general keep major nonsense in low profile in masses and such, so I only knew the "good" stuff.

So, the Bible or something religious like that claims racist stuff?

Where have you been since then? It's not just in the bible and Qur'an.... All you have to do is read the news..Not all of the religious keep the dysfunctions of thier beliefs private.

Not sure what you mean, here in Mexico are not much material to be racist about, we are 500years of 36races melted into one, so we all look.. ahmm.., Mexican, from the European Mexican blonds to Aztec, Mayans Mexican browns, we don't have Blacks(some foreigners).

Most religions here are the Christian God related.

I understand there may be non religious racists people, I was not talking about those, I know there is racism in the world, I was referring to the OP claim about Christians having to be racists because of their beliefs. And as I said, the Christians that I know don't seem to be much racist..., Maybe A) they don't follow their belief to the letter (lying to themselves) if is the case that their Faith demands racist opinions or B) They just didn't get that part.
I know though that they may have their secret opinions.

Oh got it.
You mean, in the news there are religious people who demand racist stuff, oh ok.
Then maybe I didn't realize it because I don't watch TV and the news I watch are more like National(Mexico) and International(worldwide interest).
But I get what you mean, yep.

The OP acts like it is a strange thing for Christians to think racism is wrong. Christians were on the forefront of ending racial discrimination in America.

i am a christian. i am not a doormat. if you come up to me and unsolicited start sharing details of your sex life to me a total stranger, i object.
if you curse talk loud and ugly & expose your underwear and butt to me u r offensive i dont want u around me.
if u come into my country illegally and take jobs from our young people who need them, and suck our welfare system dry, i dont want u here.
my christianity does not demand that i tolerate uncivil behavior and lawlessness.

i do not believe that a 15 year old juvi hall gangbanger and a 35 year old credentialed teacher with a masters who speakers fluently several languages, are equal as to intelligence, maturity and judgement.
your notion of christianity and equality are not like mine.
btw i am non white

While this is true, I'd say in some places it's unusual for a Christian to not be extremely conservative, and therefore unusual for them to not at least appear racist. Small, southern towns are notorious for this.

It's an odd thing too, in regards to what was said about being pro-choice. I'm an atheist and can only describe myself as both "pro-choice" and "pro-life". I think it should all be LEGAL, but I disagree with abortion of the fetus in most cases.

Shows to go ya, the danger of generalizing.
