Richard Chamberlain is gay in real life and Kathleen Turner is a big supporter of Planned Parenthood. Propaganda at it's worse directed at the young who try to emulate celebrities.
The perpetual "I'm a victim" mentality of christians.
Hollywood like the bible is based on make believe and fairy tales.
Turn the damn TV off and go about your life as if your were an adult.
You didn't follow suit, the "I'm a persecuted christian" is not the trump card, but it is often the first card that christians play.
Hollywood is out to make money, lots of money, that is the agenda of money, and they do it through "make believe". And when their "make believe" conflicts with your "make believe" (the bible) out comes the persecution complex.

Much thanks for letting us know about this movie, I see nothing wrong with it as a Catholic and look forward to seeing it.
I think this movie is representative in one way or another and not only of a Catholic family but any Christian/non Christian family in general, I'm sure there are some exceptions like your family and Rick Santorum's family, but we are talking the real world here.
I think most Christians will see the humor in this movie, I think as a Catholic I
may find it a bit more humorus than a person of a different faith much like the movie "Heaven Help Us" about Catholic school back in the early sixties.
I think the line where Turner says 'I don't have to think I'm a Catholic' is a very funny moment in the film that Catholics can identify with, thinking back to Catholic grammar school and the old Baltimore Catechism with the quetions and answers we had to memorize, never having the why of anything explained to us.
I wouldn't jump to past judgement on this film before seeing it, from the trailer it seems that in the end Turner reconciles her faith and her not so perfect family.
Maybe there is a lesson for all of us to learn in this movie, I usually don't go to the movies often I rather enjoy most movies on my widescreen and surround system but I may make an exception for this movie.

Another reality show exploiting the freaks among us. It's what Hollywood does, and when they can't find real freaks in the real world, they script some up.
There has been a few vampire movies out of Hollywood lately. A lot of christians would relate to them well, as they are fellow "blood" drinkers.
