One of the problems with this thread is you're trying to discuss a lot of different topics all at once - the origin of the universe, the origin of life, the evolution of life, the evolution of consciousness, the origin of culture and civilization, etc.

This is why the thread lacks focus.

Science began as a serach for the divine.

It does not lack my focus.

Evolution is reserved and reclining, thats why no new species has emerged and why basically we are the same today as we were 5,000 years ago.

So what...That has nothing whatever to do with science today...You may prefer to live in the past, but I don't.

So where is this evidence for the divine you say you have?

Wrong, wrong, wrong, evolution continues as it always has..

A fanged frog, a bright yellow snail and a blue lizard are among more than 1,060 new species recently found on the Melanesian island of New Guinea, Among the new species discovered from 1998 to 2008 were 218 new kinds of plants (of which around 100 are orchids), 580 invertebrates, 134 amphibians, 2 birds, 71 fish (including an extremely rare 8-foot-long river shark), 43 reptiles and 12 mammals.....All this on one island. But hey, perhaps if you hadn't slept in science class, who knows how you would have turned out.

Bottom line is that all creationists have is a tautology - God, or worse, some undefined designer did it. How friggin weak is that?
First of all the TOE definition changes many times throughout a debate. You atheist know good and well that opponents of TOE disagree that life came from this single celled organism. You're right TOE does not explain the origin of life. Of course I already said it didn't. I said it was so weak you have make up another theory to even get started talking about evolution. Of course that theory (abiogenesis) is so weak you avoid talking about it and separate the 2. That's is why I questioned why you atheist even use TOE to oppose believer in the Crreator of the universe. Since evolution is so weak that it cannot go back that far (let alone to the beginning of the universe from which there was absolutely NOTHING). But you still do not realize that without a valid explanation for how that single celled organism came to be there can be NO evolution. So according to evolution (by ignoring abiogenesis) a single celled organism appeared (by "magic") and magically spawned life even though the UV rays from the sun would destroy any life due to the lack of an ozone layer (due to the lack of plants) over the course of billions of years because a few would probably sustain life and the progenitors conveniently died of (kind of like our primate ancestor). Oh those time and probability gods waving their magic wands. Now where did the matter come from if there was nothing in the beginning?

The question still stands UNANSWERED...how did the progenitor of life (single celled prokaryotes) spawn all this diverse life with no life in the beginning? Things work too synergistically to have come from single celled prokaryotes (that have NO nucleus) and could not have produced an atmosphere to protect against UV rays to ensure reproduction that (according to scientist) could eventually lead to biodiversity.

The reason God is supernatural is because he exist outside of the natural, scientific world. Life, consciousness and civilization all had help from an outside source at their orgins; that is clear to me.
Do you make these same lame arguments to Christians, Jews, and other religious folk who happen to believe that the theory of biological evoilution is valid?

Erm, "God did it", is not a scientific explanation.

And nearly every scientist will tell you that that search has fallen flat on its face. Which is why they leave religion out of the laboratory.

Those species are not new, we jusy are now finding out they existed. You are talking about discoveries, and trying to imply they emerged in the 1900s from nothing, and evolved into reality in our century; and thats incredibly false use of information.
