Early Christianity probably did have strictly 'Christian' holidays (that is, holidays that were specific to the Christian faith and didn't 'borrow' bits and pieces from other religions).

If they did exist, history has long since lost them to the 'blending' that occured to draw in the non-churchgoing 'pagan folk'.

And I can see that the blinders are on, and like most willfully ignorant Americans, you can't see past our borders.

Holiday means many different things in different English speaking countries, and not necessarily anything to do with any imaginary friends, but "time off from work".
