religion- noun
1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
I highlighted especially and usually to reiterate that these do not imply exclusivity to the following content. Most people think of religion as being ONLY those things. I disagree. Religion is simly "a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe". Anything beliefs concerning those things is a religion.
Religion is simply "a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe".
That is philosophy. For religion you’ve got to have gods and priesthood and since gods predate priesthood, religion appeared only when the representatives of the gods informed believers that the gods ascended to the skies.
