Default Beliefs

Please keep this civil but I am wondering regardless of what YOU believe, do you CARE if others believe the same way as you?

Well I think if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and His divine nature and that there is a plan for all of us then it only seems natural that you would care what others believe. Is that not what Jesus taught us? to Love one another and to Feed His Sheep?

Do you mean if others believe what I believe? If so...

Yes. I care very much. As a Christian, we are tought that the only way for salvation is through Jesus Christ. Does that mean that I am going to bash people over the head with my Bible to get it through to them? NO. I just live my life in a way that hopefully people will take notice. I don't hide that I'm a Christian, but I don't flaunt it either. I respect people who believe differently. As I've said on this forum before, you can disagree and still not make the other person feel ignorant or less valuable as a person.

Yes, I care passionately that others believe as I do. As dojilynn just quoted, Jesus DID say He was the only way to the Father. Either I believe that or I don't. I do respect others' right to believe as they choose, however.

Yes dojilynn that is exactly what I mean. What about those who aren't Christians, those of other faiths, does it matter to you?
And Yes dreameyes, I agree with you. I am curious from other viewpoints. Nicely put Kaykay.

It matters a great deal to me because I see them as lost (no offense meant to anyone!). I have no desire that any one should not know Christ. However, I know that not all are going to see things my way, so the most I can do is live my life in a way that will show Christ to them. If they ask questions, then I will gladly answer. If something religious comes up in a conversation, I will not hide my beliefs. Other than that, unless I feel strongly led by the Holy Spirit to verbally witness to them, I won't. I think it is the Spirit who convicts, I just need to be a willing vessel.

Does that make sense?

I would venture to guess that most christians feel this same way. I know I do. I'm very curious as to how some other religions may answer this. I think no matter what you believe, you have a natural desire to want other people to believe it, religion or not.

Well, I would "prefer" it because I believe there is only one truth, one faith, (and yes I believe I've found it or else I wouldn't be in it) but God reads hearts so what He sees of a person is His call and I'm sure He will see many many hearts that do not believe the same way as I that are worthy of everlasting life.

i dont care, who is right is a matter of opinion that wont be resolved until death.i have a much broader view though of who will be with God then most christians so i dont see many as 'lost'.if i believed that most of the world was going to hell i likely would care
